Position Summary:
The primary responsibility, as a Lecturer, is to teach 12 credits each semester of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. Teach courses in Mathematics, including Actuarial Science, Statistics and Probability, Mathematics of Finance, Calculus, and others as assigned by the Department Chair. Essential Functions:
- Teach 12 credits each semester of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Department of Mathematical Sciences
- Advise students and maintain regularly scheduled office hours to provide tutoring, serve as coordinator of courses when assigned, which involves the supervision and management of several sections of a course.
- Participate in course and program development as required.
- Participate in student events and external outreach activities, as required.
- Provide service to the department, university and community, as required.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Collegiate level teaching experience in teaching Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics, and Probability and Statistics.
- Master's Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics preferred.
- An individual with expertise in Actuarial Science and an interest and ability to support the Mathematics of Finance and Actuarial Science concentration of the B.S. in Mathematical Sciences is strongly preferred.
- Successful completion of SOA and CAS exams a plus.
