This is a hybrid position and will require onsite work 2-3 days each week.

Cooper Electric is a proud member of the Sonepar Group, the world's largest privately held electrical distributor. Sonepar entered the US in 1998 and has continued to grow due to strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Today, Sonepar USA is represented by 14 locally managed operating companies with over 700 locations nationwide.

We are currently searching for a Corporate Recruiter. The recruiting professional is a relationship-builder who not only understands but appreciates the value of a candidate/potential employee.

The ideal recruiter will draw on extensive knowledge of talent acquisition and functional areas of the business, forging dynamic relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, and HR business partners. They have a relevant high-volume recruiting background, are process and metrics-oriented, and are self-driven. This role must be agile, quickly adapting to changes in the workforce and their impacts, with a problem-solving attitude and excellent communication skills.

As a strategic partner, the recruiter is expected to



  • Design and execute an integrated recruiting strategy that addresses Affirmative Action plans and offers a diverse playbook.
  • Understand how to recruit passive candidates and possess the mentality to profile people and gauge the chemistry of candidates for fit within the organization.
  • Conduct a job launch call with the hiring team to establish criteria for initial candidate screening, and determine the interview process.
  • Conduct in-depth screening interviews of potential candidates, demonstrating the ability to anticipate hiring manager preferences through high offer-to-interview ratios.
  • Screen, interview, and prepare diverse candidate slates within an appropriate and consistent timeline.
  • Contribute to a positive candidate experience, manage candidate process and act as a candidate advocate.
  • Build and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management.
  • Develop relationships with universities, trade schools, high schools and through diversity outreach.
  • Ensure adherence to all equal employment opportunity laws.
  • Participate in special projects/recruiting initiatives including assessment of best practices in interviewing techniques, leveraging of internal sources, employer branding, etc. Manage full recruitment process: sourcing, scheduling & conducting interviews.



The successful candidate will have an uncommon balance of creativity and drive, along with interpersonal savvy and basic analytics. Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a high-paced, changing work environment as well as the ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks and manage work time efficiently while leading the recruitment process.

Those considered for this opportunity will have



  • 3+ years of corporate and/or search firm progressive experience including passive candidate generation and full life cycle recruiting.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Business Management related areas
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and other hiring technologies.
