Data Analytics Strategy Consultant - Managing Director

Position Summary

As a managing director in our Data Analytics practice, within our Advisory Business Unit, you will be the primary leader engaging with C-suite client resources to uncover business drivers, key metrics, and data analytics strategies that will drive creation of enterprise value for the organization. Internally, your role will also be critical in helping us continue to grow the practice as a key leader in advancing our ability to deliver differentiated value in the market for our clients.

We are looking for an analytics strategy leader who can partner with our Private Equity sponsors and top portfolio company business leaders to help them identify vision and long-term goals, and translate that to a series of high impact, persona-based dashboards driving action and meaningful results. A primary skill will be the ability to engage with C-suite resources through an effective process to quickly translate business vision into a well-structured set of key metrics that management and private equity leadership agrees on. You will then help transition the resultant framework to others in the data analytics team who will help refine, build, and deploy enterprise caliber analytics to the company using a variety of best of breed data business intelligence tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Crowe is looking for a data analytics strategy leader with a strong business background and extensive consulting experience. The primary focus will be as a visible client facing leader in the early stages of new relationships to help set the vision for what will best support decision making for the various personas within the company. You will help sell and deliver initial and ongoing project work, while actively maintaining relationships with client leaders. It is important to be a great team leader in effectively translating the strategy and roadmap to the implementation team, as they turn the captured vision into delivered insights.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support sales efforts and creation of compelling client proposals for business focused data related solutions

  • Facilitate interactive sessions with client management teams to identify the key value drivers for the business, and each relevant department (e.g., sales, operations, finance, HR, etc.)

  • Identify and subsequently interact with the key decision makers and personas for whom we want to develop unique dashboards

  • Outline the key decisions each persona needs to make and the associated analyses that will empower that decision making

  • Work closely and effectively with the data analytics project team to support translation of the vision into working dashboards

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with client and private equity leaders to support continual improvement of analytics development through the course of a hold

  • Implement new best practices which enhance the service offering within a fast-paced practice experiencing rapid growth

  • Support skill development of teammates to make those around you better

Requirements

  • MBA/master's degree preferred with 12+ years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing data and/or operational strategy

  • Experience in developing and communicating strategic value drivers in the industrials and/or healthcare industries

  • Possession of excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and proactive skills

  • Knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to strategic planning

  • Outstanding team player with exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Proven track record of successful engagement with senior client leaders

  • Experience mentoring teammates and strengthening the business

  • Experience working with teams using agile development practices
