Transportation Coordinator

Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Transportation Coordinator to be based out of Kent, WA. Reporting to the Distribution Center Manager, this person will be responsible for handling day-to-day communicating and coordinating with drivers, and keeping transportation logs.

What you'll do:



  • Check in and out drivers from facility
  • Prepare shipping documents for warehouse personnel
  • Creates shipping documents and Bill of Ladings for outbound shipments
  • Create customs paperwork or commercial invoices for international shipments
  • Verify the accuracy of all shipping and receiving documentation
  • Validates and processes detention request from carriers
  • Assist in appointment scheduling and transportation planning activities as needed
  • Foster and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and visitors/drivers.
  • Other duties as assigned.


MUST OBSERVE ALL PLANT SAFETY RULES AND REPORT ANY UNSAFE CONDITIONS TO THE SUPERVISOR.

What you'll bring:



  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience working in distribution center operations, transportation, inventory, or demand planning.
  • Understand and perform tasks related to transportation routing including printing picking documents, delivery documents, and schedule management.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks, strong time management skills and perform at a high level in a fast pace environment.
  • Keep a clean orderly working area to minimize room for error.
  • Experience operating in a LEAN environment a plus.


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete any required training
  • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.
  • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
