Job Responsibilities
The DevOps Global Enterprise Mobility team is focused on providing solutions to provide a world-class internet connectivity service to various markets (e.g. airline, maritime, etc.). As a member of this team, you will build up a vast knowledge in software development, networking, cloud application engineering, automation, data visualization, and container orchestration. You will be working with various cutting-edge technologies at multiple layers of the software stack to design, develop, deploy, and maintain the internet connectivity service.

In addition, an ideal candidate enjoys working with the operations team by providing support, visualization, and solutions as challenges arise. This team is focused on providing business customers as well as the end users with the best internet connectivity service. In this position you will be an integral part of the DevOps Global Enterprise Mobility team and make meaningful impacts to the internet connectivity service that is in production and used every day. Your responsibilities will range from developing software that is able to scale across multiple markets by creating new products and services while still monitoring and maintaining existing services for the passengers, crew, mechanics, and installers.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math & Computer Science, and/or a related field.* Experience in one or more language: Java, Python, C/C++, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Experience with Linux and networking
  • Experience with one or more source control technology: Git, ClearCase, Perforce, Subversion, etc.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work on a distributed team
  • Ability to learn quickly and creatively solve problems
Preferences
  • Experience with Automation Technologies: Jenkins, Travis, Puppet, CHEF, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience with Cloud Technologies: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
  • Experience with Container Technologies: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with Scrum
  • Previous internship experience is a plus

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For Colorado-based jobs only: The minimum for this position is $118,350 annually; however, base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
