Accounting Analyst

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking an Accounting Analyst located in our Dallas, TX office that will report to HUS's Controller & Director of Finance. The position will support the efforts of existing Tax and Accounting team members and the various reporting, budgeting, and accounting processes they lead and support. The selected individual will assist and participate in preparation of monthly and annual financial reports, monthly close, and maintenance of financial records used in tax, GAAP and regulatory reports. This position will work closely with HUS Operations and Business Development as well as Hunt Consolidated tax, treasury, and accounting groups.

Major Responsibilities:

• Maintain fixed asset subledgers used in tax, GAAP, and regulatory reports
• Maintain project accounting records, which includes almost $200 million of new construction projects over the next four years
• Assist with the month-end close and reporting process
• Work closely with Director of Tax to assist with the preparation of federal & state income tax returns
• Assist in preparation of regulatory filings
• Support management in monthly variance analysis and annual budget preparation
• Assist with federal and state tax audits

Required Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Required Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in accounting or related field
• Two plus years of experience in Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Financial Reporting; Including proven knowledge of Income Statements, Balance Sheets, Statements of Cash Flow, Working Capital, Asset Capitalization, and Accruals
• Tax experience preferred
• Working knowledge of SAP preferred
