As Barclays' Rates Trading Floor Support, you will be providing seamless end-to-end support service for front office users to help drive the effectiveness and commercial strength of the Trading franchise. You will be responsible in Investigation of trader related issues to provide swift solutions or ad-hoc tactical fixes, whilst also engaging with application owners to provide effective problem management and rapid strategic resolutions. What will you be doing?

* Monitoring application incident queues/alerts ensuring maximum system uptime. Contribute to service level improvements by documenting known issues

* Working closely with other IT technology teams to manage and resolve production issues. "Own the problem" attitude, driving problem resolution

* Providing functional systems support for business activities ranging from trade capture to trade life cycling, PNL and risk position generation

* Maintaining up to date knowledge base of the application's technical structure and business logic in a dynamic and fast-paced environment

* Working will form part of the job function with tasks range from liaising with developers on minor change and tactical solutions to providing advisory services relating to strategic projects on boarding

* Supporting including pro-active monitoring of all hardware platforms to maintain stability and capacity.

* Assisting with maintenance of configuration data ensuring accurate inventory of hardware, services, application and processes

* Planning - maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans. Assist with DR testing and reviews

What we're looking for:

* Three to five hears college degree

* Hands on experience in shell/perl/python and Database scripting

* Knowledge of KDB

* Knowledge of tools - Autosys, ITRS and ServiceFirst

Skills that will help you in the role:

* Self-motivated and resourceful ,confident and able to work alone and be able to build a team

* Able to readily adapt to changing requirements and priorities

* Can multi-task effectively when required, but also able to identify scheduling conflicts and communicate these confidently

* Enthusiasm to learn and absorb business processes and IT technologies

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
