We are searching for a Patient Care Representative for Occupational/Employee Health to perform a variety of office support, coordination of various patient care processes and other related duties in accordance with established Occupational Health department policies and procedures.

**$1,000 New Hire Sign On Bonus in this position**

If a rehire - must have been gone from the organization for 1yr in order to be eligible



  • Hours: 40hrs
  • Shift: Day Shift; 7:30am-4 pm
  • Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:



  • Equal to completion of four years of high school plus additional specialized courses or training, secretarial school, diploma, or medical office certification.
  • Customer service skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills and phone etiquette expected.
  • Over three years of related medical office work experience is required. Previous experience working in busy practice as a patient access representative is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to use both departmental and/or hospital computer systems is required.
  • Willing to learn new EMR (Systoc) and work as a team player to assist the needs of our employees and outside clients is preferable but not required
  • Duties require knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficient data entry skills are also essential.
  • Must work independently to schedule patients and set up new accounts.
  • Previous experience working as a front office staff preferred

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 and seasonal Influenza. Must provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.
