is actively searching for an experienced Industrial Sales Account Manager in our Metro NY/Long Island Territory. The Account Manager maintains relationships and develops new customers by visiting and performs any duties assigned by their manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  1. Secure business from existing and potential customers by means of visiting customer facility regularly.
  2. Secure opportunities on customer requirements by working with Cooper's departments to develop a comprehensive bill of material.
  3. Follow up on all quotations submitted to customers, answer questions/concerns and close the order.
  4. Establish professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management and other key personnel).
  5. Establish customer specific contracts.
  6. Perform all assigned duties in the assigned sales territory.
  7. Provide a territory sales forecast.
  8. Develop and execute sales plan to increase market share, grow sales and increase gross margin.



ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Perform any directly related appropriate duties assigned by their manager.
  2. Perform assigned duties with minimum personal supervision.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or equivalent job experience in industrial products will be considered.
  • Minimum two years of industry related experience, such as, product, sales, project or combination of experience and training in one or more areas.


  • Holds a valid driver's license in local state, always maintain acceptable driver history and insurance coverage, as determined by company insurance standards.



Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Knowledge of industrial electrical products and applications.
  • Knowledge of Control and Automation products.
  • Skilled in selling products & services, negotiating sales, pricing and terms.
  • Ability to effectively communicate information and present ideas and solutions to customer.
  • Outgoing personality that works well with others.
  • Ability to speak, read and write proficiently in English.
  • Maintains strong customer service skills and inter-personal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and possess strong work detail and organizational skills.
  • Motivated, Self-Starter with a strong work ethic who can work independently.
  • Keeps the Company's best interest in mind while conducting self and performing job.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary and sensitive business information.
  • Exercises safety in all aspects of carrying out job responsibilities.
  • Must be fluent in Microsoft Office .
