Client Services Manager (Ret Plan Client Svcs Spec)

Serves as the primary point of contact for Sentry's Retirement Plan customers. Provides proactive technical guidance and consultative support for designated customers in the areas of: plan design, interpretation of plan documents, recommendation and implementation of plan amendments, contributions, plan limits, loan administration and other facets of plan administration. Conducts periodic reviews of assigned plans and proactively provides Sentry field 401(K) associates, sales associates and customers insights into plan operations, new compliance requirements, and alternative plan design or administrative approaches to improve the plan. Proactively intervenes with supporting service staff to ensure deadlines and special client needs are met, while maintaining sufficient contact with assigned customers to avoid or mitigate compliance issues. Responds to customer and field associate questions and requests with emphasis on sensitive or larger service/relationship issues.

As a Client Services Manager you will be responsible for answering a variety of technical 401(k) and service questions that come in from clients and employers who purchase our 401(k) products. We are looking for a team member who is passionate about working with customers, building relationships and providing the technical expertise our clients need.

What You'll Do

You will support the administration of employer retirement plans and regularly review 401(k) plans. Client Services Managers provide the customer with best practice insights in plan operations, review new compliance requirements, and alternate plan design to improve the plan.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers and sales producers through phone calls and e-mails, while building strong relationships.
  • Collaborate with sales producers to communicate compliance test results and recommend alternatives.
  • Accurately manage and document processes for a variety of regulatory reports.
  • Partner through the installation process of new plans by coordinating the initial contribution processes. Consult on plan design changes.
  • Provide support to internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain knowledge of Sentry's plan documents, contracts and systems.
  • Manage an assigned book of business and meeting all scheduled service deadlines.
  • Assist in staff training and procedure development.

What it Takes

  • Associate Degree or greater preferred, equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Prior retirement/401(k) experience and knowledge of retirement/401(k) laws and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures.
  • Successful completion of educational courses such as CEBS or ASPPA would be highly beneficial, or desire to complete these courses upon employment.
  • Computer, math aptitude, and ability to communicate and provide exceptional service to our customers required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and handle several projects simultaneously is necessary.
  • Ability to analyze contracts and documents is required.
