Your Role With Us: The Certified Nursing Assistant is the bright shining face that enters a patient's room to do everything they can within their scope of practice to ensure that their patient is safe and getting the highest quality care here at Salem Health! Our CNA's are compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental individuals that sincerely care for our patients. As a CNA, you can truly make a difference in your patient's day!Core Functions:Completes personal care on each patient as directed by plan of care, including policies and procedures, without continual direct supervision.Accurately performs skills per policy and procedure. Completes only those skills duties for which competency has been demonstrated basic and advanced skills checklists.Observes and reports any patient condition changes to the Primary Nurse such as: abnormal vital signs, abnormal responses to care, change in patient behavior, functional status, patient complaints, changes in skin integrity, falls, placing electrodes/leads and run EKGs, etc.Documents pertinent patient information concisely and legibly using acceptable medical terminology and abbreviation on all assigned patients.Assumes additional clerical responsibilities as department needs dictate.
