We are searching for a Registered Nurse for ICU to perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served. May assume Charge responsibility for assigned personnel and activities as required or directed.

SLH-ICU/SICU is part of a Level II Trauma center and is comprised of 24 beds. Our Critical Care Unit provides exceptional care to a multitude of critically ill patients. This includes hemodynamically unstable patients of varying diagnoses including but not limited to acute respiratory failure, acute MI, with and without intervention, cardiogenic shock, heart blocks, life threatening arrhythmias, sepsis/septic shock, renal failure, DKA, acute CVA, hypertensive crisis, acute GI bleed, multiple trauma, multi-system organ failure and major surgical cases including vascular and neurosurgical services.

Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Hours: 24hrs flex 32hrs (Part Time with Benefits)

Please Note: This is a 24 hour Flex to 32 hour position, regularly scheduled for 24 hours per week but may be scheduled for up to 32 hours per week.

Shift: NIGHT, 11:15pm-7:15am with weekend & holiday rotations

Education and/or Experience Requirements:



  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
  • Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • ICU experience is preferred.

Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and COVID-19 and provide required vaccination documentation, unless approved for an exemption or deferral by Southcoast prior to starting employment.

***SIGN-ON DETAILS***

  • $12,000 with a minimum 3+ years of Critical Care nursing experience.
  • $9,600 with 1+ years of Critical Care nursing experience.
  • $8,000 with less than 1 year of Critical Care nursing experience OR 1+ years of hospital RN experience.
  • Must be a new hire OR a rehire termed greater than 1 year to be eligible
