Student: System Administration Assistant

SDL is seeking a student employee to assist our full-time systems administrators with system development, maintenance, and projects. This may include managing accounts for internal and external customers, solution inventory and documentation, installing and configuring Microsoft and other industry standard software and hardware, tracking of licensing, upkeep of our conference rooms, and patching and maintenance of various systems. This is an on-site, non-remote position for our Logan, UT location.

SDL supports a variety of missions, including NASA's vision to reveal the unknown for the benefit of humankind and the Department of Defense's aim to protect our Nation on the ground, in the air, and in space. Our sensors, satellites, software systems, and science and engineering play an essential role in some important missions you've heard of, and others that you haven't. Required Qualifications:

  • USU Student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Business, or related degree with at least two years of school remaining
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Reliable and detail-oriented
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  • Must be able to work between 16 to 20 hours over five days per week during the school year, and up to 40 hours per week during the summer months
  • Must be a US citizen,lawful permanent resident of the US, or other US person

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A+ or Security+ certification
  • Experience helping customers solve complex problems
  • Experience with workstation and server hardware and software
  • Active Security Clearance
