UFP Technologies is hiring Engineering Interns for Summer 2024

What to Expect:

UFP brings projects from customer concepts all the way to commercial production. During your internship, you will gain exposure to the whole Engineering process. Learn the steps to making your project and career successful with exposure to some or all of the following:

• Customer Interaction
• Program Management
• Design
• Fabrication
• Measurement
• Analysis

Program Timeline / Hours:

• Start date will be late May / early June
• Expected completion of the internship is late August or early September 2024
• Full time (40 hours): Monday - Friday
• We are not currently offering housing / transportation. Candidates should be within driving distance (45 min).

UFP MedTech has a variety of different engineering opportunities available. Depending on the opportunity you accept you will be involved in a variety of different tasks. Some of those tasks may include:

• Working closely with a mentor to apply current knowledge and gains experience on our key manufacturing processes.
• Setting achievable goals that span the duration of the internship and aligns with our business needs.
• Participating in the collaborative process of product and process design.
• Developing layouts, solid models, assembly drawings and detail drawings for new and redesigned products, using ACAD or SolidWorks.
• Assisting with preparing information and researching materials for assigned tasks.
• Gaining industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and job assignments.
• May be generating, reviewing, and distributing daily/weekly comprehensive status reports.
• Supporting engineering staff and gains experience and familiarization with UFP projects.
• Identifying, executing, and participating in continuous improvements activities to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Evaluating processes related to operations, time, cost, and inventory.
• Analyzing and evaluating methods of production and identifies ways to improve them.
• Supporting new business development and launch activities.
• Working with a mentor to apply current knowledge and gain experience on key manufacturing processes.
• Participating in a training program that includes equipment operation and maintenance.
• Presenting findings and lessons learned to key business stakeholders at the end of the internship.

What we want to see:

• Candidate must be enrolled in a 4-year accredited university/college in an Engineering discipline, i.e. mechanical, design, biomedical, electrical, physics, etc.
• Knowledge of CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCad and or Master Cam is a plus.
• Knowledge of Microsoft office software.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and mathematic skills.
• Willingness to collaborate in a team environment and looking for opportunities to help.
• Team player who is willing to spend time away from their desk and on the floor working with our products.
• Strong customer facing ability, who can be comfortable and professional in front of the commercial team.
• Candidate must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States. Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.
