This position is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and repair of buildings, equipment, and systems throughout assigned College facilities. Essential Functions/Duties
- Respond to service requests from facility users for the repair, replacement and resetting of defective electrical components and/or the air conditioning system.
- Checks and test the energy management computer system operation, takes readings and observes
- Examines local fire panels, reset and silence alarms.
- Adjusts, repairs, resets manual bypass valves and adjusts commercial air conditioning equipment.
- Perform various landscaping and ground maintenance activities.
- Maintains log sheets of service requests, and complete orders for plumbing repairs.
- Load, unload, and move various materials and equipment.
- Performs electrical maintenance, painting, light carpentry, shelf installations and mounting of bulletin boards.
- Responds to requests to set-up of equipment and furniture for college events or scheduled functions.
- Operates various equipment including power tools, forklifts, motorized vehicles, and other equipment associated with a wide range of facility maintenance.
- Responds to all emergencies.
- Responds to requests for cutting keys.
- Responds to requests from security for crowd control.
- Responds to after-hours requests.

Working Conditions/Additional Information
- Sometimes requires coming in on evenings, weekends, holidays and days when the college is scheduled closed. Weekend and evening work may be required.
- Exposure on frequent basis to several disagreeable elements or factors such as; oily, dirt, heat, dampness, fumes, chemicals dust, and noise.
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- This is an in-person, on-campus position. There are no opportunities for remote or hybrid work.
Salary and Benefits Information
- This position is a level C15. Please see below for specific salary range.
- PM shifts are eligible for an additional 5% to the hourly base pay.

- Graduation from a standard high school (or equivalent).
- Trade certifications preferred.

Required Experience
- One year of related previous experience in a facilities or building maintenance role in one or more trades. (Automotive maintenance does not qualify for this requirement.)
- Alternate credential: Trade (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) certification with hands-on training from a verifiable institution or agency may be substituted for work experience.
