West Virginia University Research Corporation is currently accepting applications for a Biology Technician with the Department of Ophthalmology About the Opportunity This position will provide assistance Dr. Joel Palko, a principal investigator within the department of ophthalmology at West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Joel Palko is a clinician-scientist in the department of ophthalmology at the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He is a fellowship trained glaucoma surgeon with a lab researching the role biomechanics and blood flow has in ocular diseases such as glaucoma. Requirements
Work will be performed in a standard laboratory environment including using computers and laboratory equipment with electrical connections. The applicant must comply with all laboratory safety procedures and clothing/equipment requirements. Exposure to laboratory animals and biological samples is expected; protective measures and safety training will be provided. The applicant will have close mentorship and training with Dr. Palko but should have the ability to work independently as part of a research team.
