The Fellow's primary functions are to build a safe and inclusive learning community for residents of the Living Learning Community (LLC) and to support the academic mission of the University of California, Merced and Residence Education. The AHF will serve as student success coach for AFRO Hall Scholars. Duties include, but are not limited to, providing instruction of a one-unit first year seminar for LLC scholars that serves and is aligned to the mission of AFRO Hall outcomes, co-developing workshops and community building activities with team, weekly team meetings with AFRO LLC manager, AFRO academic advisor, and ResEd, hold office hours at least two hours a week, provide students with referrals to necessary campus resources, serve as a student liaison between the AFRO hall and the AFRO student organization, work with the larger AFRO team to prepare an annual report for AFRO Hall outcomes each semester, and co-develop and help implement marketing strategy for outreach and recruitment of incoming students.
