The Content Manager will implement, activate, and steward our new brand across audiences through content, creating a consistent brand expression that showcases our new story and tone of voice. Reporting to the VP, Brand Strategy, this role will be responsible for maintaining our content style guide and tone of voice across owned channels. They will be the primary writer for our corporate website, as well as for our social channels, thought leadership reports, and other content types and assets.

Our ideal candidate is strategic yet hands on. This newly-created position requires a skilled writer and content manager who not only well versed in the mechanics of clean copy, but is also able to adopt a company voice and bring it to life consistently. This is not strictly a writing role, however. To excel in this position, the candidate should have experience managing a content calendar, reporting on results, and making recommendations for improvement.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manages the brand voice and its expression through owned channels
  • Maintains content guidelines, both mechanical and expressive
  • Primary writer for website
  • Social media manager for LinkedIn, including writing, posting, monitoring and reporting.
  • Work with the VP, Brand Strategy, to define and deliver the content strategy to support brand awareness and affinity.
  • Analyze performance of owned channels via Google Analytics and provide regular reporting, including recommendation for improvement.
  • Primary writer for thought leadership, including white papers, "state of" reports, infographics, and other assets as appropriate.
  • Manage freelancers as needed to support spike capacity.
  • Support other teams with standard narrative and boilerplate for a variety of audiences, such as presentations and speaking opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Proven experience as a copywriter and content strategist
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field preferred but other degree areas will be considered.
  • 8-10+ years corporate or agency role as a copywriter and content manager.
  • Exemplary skill at writing and editing both short-form and long-form content.
  • Experience managing a content calendar, including content planning via a content strategy.
  • Comfort with using and reporting on results using analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
  • Adept at keyword placement and SEO best practices.
  • Proficiency with popular content management systems such as WordPress, as well as basic HTML knowledge.
  • Experience with social media management.
  • Creativity and the ability to develop original content that provokes engagement.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines at once.
  • Self-starter with the ability to think beyond traditional approaches and keep evolving ideas and strategies.
  • A flexible person who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
