Position Summary
This position will serve as a marketing and public relations professional to assist the state office by writing and publishing client success stories, assisting in the creation of social media marketing plans for local offices, and producing research reports and publics for the Small Business and its impact on Georgia and annual Congressional reports. This position is essential to maintaining adequate marketing and public relations across the 18 SBDC local offices.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
* Excellent writing and editing skills, as well as visual storytelling abilities
* Ability to develop engaging and impactful story content
* Ability to write and edit using AP style
* Familiarity with photography and/or videography best practices
* Strong organizational skills and project management experience
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Experience with email marketing platforms (MailChimp)
* Proficient in Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator) preferred
* Familiarity with Wordpress CMS
* Proficient in typical office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Develop SBDC client success stories to illustrate program impact
Produce high-quality SBDC stories which illustrate program impact to SBDC
stakeholders. Maintain a story production volume of 2 stories per month. Manage
vendor relationships with external writers (as needed), photographers and
videographers.

Manage Client Success Story and Business Sense Article Intake & Publication Processes
Manage the intake process of consultant-submitted client success stories. Maintain strong
internal deadlines and communicate deadlines with SBDC faculty and staff. Routinely
review submissions for client success story ideas, collaborating with faculty members and
clients to develop story angles. Ensure all SBDC and SBA policies regarding client confidentiality
are followed. Maintain database of completed stories and articles. Collect Business Sense
articles written by SBDC Business Consultants. Work with outside partners for article and story
placement in statewide and local media. Ensure SBDC website is up-to-date with recent stories.

Create Social Media and Field Offices
Assist Marketing Manager with creation of engaging social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
and LinkedIn) content for both the SBDC state office and field offices across Georgia. Utilize
social media best practices and adhere to UGA branding guidelines.

Provide content and editorial guidance for annual SBDC research publications (Small
Business and Its Impact on Georgia) and impact / annual Congressional reports. Provide design

Produce quarterly print and digital newsletters to include content creation, layout, and
distribution. Design print newsletters using Adobe InDesign; produce and distribute digital
newsletters using Mailchimp. Manage print jobs with outside vendors. Maintain and update
state newsletter distribution list.
