If your writing can move people to action, come work at the KSU Foundation. We're searching for a multitalented marketing content manager who can face any writing format: from click-centric EMs to powerful video scripts.

The Marketing Copywriter, also known as our Marketing Content Manager, creates marketing content for direct mail, advertising, web, email, social media, and other channels. This position builds high-quality creative concepts that advance the goals of the organization. The Manager possesses a high level of professional interaction with internal and external partners. This position may delegate work as appropriate and leads a range of projects. They lead by example and mentor/train new or less experienced members of the team in best practices.

A day in the life of a Marketing Content Manager could be:

  1. Serve as an expert in creative development of response-based marketing content based on defined strategies documented in marketing plans and creative briefs.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues and University partners to create marketing content that inspires philanthropic support of the University.
  3. Produce creative content for social media, based on established strategies.
  4. Assist with writing news releases and media relations, as needed.
  5. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues.
  6. Uphold the organization's brand standards and effectively influence others to do so.
  7. Work with campus volunteers to develop outstanding marketing content supporting campus campaigns.
  8. Advise others on current technology and marketing trends.
  9. Contribute to the writing of magazines, proposals, and video and event scripts, as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, journalism or related field
  • Minimum of three years of professional work experience executing successful creative strategies for an organization
  • Experience writing and executing communications and marketing plans
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Sophisticated proofreading and editing skills, with knowledge of AP Style guidelines
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, multi-task environment
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license with an acceptable driving record

What we want:

  • Minimum of five years communications work experience executing successful creative strategies for a company or organization
  • Proven talent in creating successful direct multi-channel creative strategies with outstanding results
  • Experience with search engine optimization (SEO) writing
  • Passion and enthusiasm for their work and the mission of the Foundation
